A Call Out for Plants

To begin to build our medicinal beds, we needed to start to gather plants. Our first step was to ask the local community to donate any plants, seedlings or cuttings. In asking our fellow residents, growers, gardeners and community projects we also hoped to find out a little more about what was growing in the local area and what people were using for herbal and medicinal benefits in their own homes.

The Call

Fallowfield Secret Garden is building a living library of medicinal plants. We are working with Manchester artist Lynn Pilling to design the beds. We need some help to populate the area with plants, herbs & shrubs that have medicinal properties. We are asking local residents if they have any spare plants, seedlings or cuttings that they would be willing to donate to the project. You can bring your plants to the following donation points:

Birch Grove Community Centre - There will be a box by the front door.
Platt Hall, Platt Fields Park - Tuesdays between 11am and 4pm. There will be a collection point for Brighton Grove Allotments in the society shed
Fallowfield Secret Garden - Sundays between 12 & 3pm or there will be a box by the main entrance gate between 86 & 87 Wilbraham Road.

Look for the green painted wooden boxes.

When leaving your plants please can you attach one of the provided labels detailing your name & your postcode to help us map & thank all those who donate to the burgeoning garden
